Élan Martin-Prashad, Marketing Co-Chair

Élan is a sophomore from Montréal, Canada, pursuing a major in Cinema and Media Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences. She has always been interested in storytelling, creative writing and film, and is excited to help further connect the Penn community to the exciting world of media and entertainment through UME. Some of her favourite films include Top Gun: Maverick, Dunkirk and Whiplash. Besides being a Marketing Co-Chair, Élan is spearheading Action! Filmmakers, an initiative that collaborates with high school students in Philadelphia to produce short films. Outside of classes and extracurriculars, Élan also plays jazz drums in the Penn Jazz Ensembles. When she's not listening to movie soundtracks, teaching herself new jazz grooves or enjoying her shifts at the Kelly Writers House as a media staffer, Élan can be found working on the fourth draft of her YA fantasy novel and spending time with family and friends.
